Aims and Scope

International Digital Hadith and Qur'an is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to exploring the intersection of Islamic scholarship and the digital world. The journal provides a scholarly platform for researchers, educators, and practitioners to investigate how the Qur'an, Hadith, Islamic authority, and religious interpretations are created, shared, and contested in digital environments. As the digital landscape reshapes the way religious texts and discourse are accessed and understood, this journal examines these transformations and their impact on contemporary Muslim society.

The journal welcomes interdisciplinary research that bridges traditional Islamic studies with modern digital fields, including Qur’anic studies, Hadith studies, digital humanities, media studies, sociology of religion, artificial intelligence, and information technology. By fostering critical discussions on the role of technology in the transmission, authentication, and public engagement with sacred Islamic texts, the journal aims to provide new insights into how these texts are evolving within local, regional, and global contexts.

The journal focuses on the following key areas:

  1. Qur’an and Hadith Studies in Digital Contexts
Research on the interpretation, transmission, translation, preservation, and dissemination of the Qur'an and Hadith through digital platforms such as websites, mobile apps, online learning environments, and digital archives. This includes studies on how these sacred texts are reshaped and made accessible through digital tools and platforms.
  2. Digital Islamic Authority and Religious Discourse
Studies examining online preachers, digital da’wah, religious influencers, and the construction of authority in digital spaces such as social media platforms, blogs, and forums. Research in this area explores how Islamic knowledge is produced, debated, and shared in the digital age, including the dynamics of public religious discourse and the challenges of establishing religious legitimacy in online communities.
  3. Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Islamic Texts
Investigations into the use of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and digital archives in the analysis of Qur’anic and Hadith texts. This area includes studies on data-driven approaches, corpus linguistics, and other technological methods that enhance our understanding of these texts and their historical, linguistic, and theological dimensions.
  4. Muslim Society, Media, and Digital Culture
Research on how Muslims engage with the Qur’an, Hadith, and Islamic teachings in digital media environments, including social media, online forums, podcasts, video platforms, and mobile applications. This area looks at how these digital spaces shape religious identity, public engagement, and community-building among Muslims in diverse contexts.
  5. Ethics, Authenticity, and Misinformation in Digital Islam
Studies addressing the challenges of digital misinformation, the misuse of religious texts, and the ethical implications of online religious communication. Research in this area explores the verification of Hadith, the authenticity of religious information circulating in digital environments, and the role of responsible dissemination of Islamic knowledge in preventing the spread of errors, distortions, or misleading interpretations.
